· Cost $5 per week
· Can be used for up to 12 weeks per calendar year
You need to request a hold in writing and we'll process it for you. Medical holds may be available without the standard hold fee where appropriate.
Why is there a $5 weekly hold fee?
Even when you're not training, your membership remains active in our system and your current membership rate and place at the Gym are retained. The $5 weekly fee helps cover the ongoing administration and system costs of maintaining your membership while you're away.
Can I freeze my membership for one week?
No. Standard membership holds have a minimum period of two weeks. If you're only away for a few days or miss a week of training, your normal membership continues.
How do I cancel my membership?
Simply contact us in writing and request cancellation. We require 14 days' notice and we'll process the cancellation for you. There are no cancellation fees and no lock-in contracts. We'll usually check in with you before processing the cancellation, as sometimes a hold or a different membership option may be a better fit. There's no obligation to stay.
Can I cancel my membership myself through the member portal?
No. Byron Boxing processes membership cancellations. Just request to cancel in the member portal or contact us and we'll take care of it.
Youth & Junior Boxing
Do you offer boxing for kids and teenagers?
Yes. We have structured Junior and Youth programs designed to develop boxing technique, fitness, coordination, confidence, and discipline in an age-appropriate environment. The owners of Byron Boxing have over 40 years of combined teaching experience in school and tertiary settings.
What ages are the Youth and Junior programs?

Youth: ages 12–17
As young boxers develop, coaches may recommend moving between programs where appropriate.
Is youth boxing safe?
Safety is a priority. Youth and Junior classes focus on technique, fitness and skill development and are non-contact unless specifically identified as an approved supervised contact or sparring session.
Sparring
Do I have to spar?
No. Sparring is completely optional and is only available to members who meet the relevant experience and membership requirements. Our standard group classes are non-contact.
Who can participate in sparring?
Supervised sparring is available to eligible Gold and Platinum members and is subject to coach approval.Coaches will determine when a boxer is ready to spar and who they are appropriately matched with. Silver members may attend the Sparring Pathway Class to learn defensive skills to move into our Sparring program ready.
Gym Rules & What to Expect
Do I need to check in?
Yes. Everyone must check in when they arrive using the iPad at the entrance. This helps us manage attendance, bookings, and safety.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and clean, closed-toe training shoes. Men must wear a t-shirt or singlet while training. Everyone must bring a towel and use it on equipment and mats.
Why do I need boxing wraps?
Wraps help protect your hands and wrists, provide support, and absorb sweat inside your gloves. Traditional wraps provide more customisable support, while quick wraps are faster and easier to put on. Both options are available at Byron Boxing.
Is there parking?
Yes. North Byron Plaza has a large on-site car park directly outside the gym.
There is also street parking and other nearby parking options if the plaza is busy.
What happens if I can't make a class I've booked?
Please cancel your booking as early as possible. We ask for at least 12 hours' notice. Late cancellations and no-shows may result in the session being forfeited or deducted from your available sessions. If something unexpected happens, contact us, and we'll do our best to help.
