What should I wear to boxing classes?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing, a singlet or t-shirt, proper training shoes, and bring a towel and water bottle. We have Byron Boxing microfibres gym towels available for sale onsite and on our Shop page for those who forget or would like to sweat in style!
Why wear wraps?
Whether you choose traditional or quick wraps, both help protect your wrists, stabilise your hands, absorb impact, and reduce the risk of injury during bag work and pad rounds. They also help keep your gloves in great condition by absorbing sweat.
Which wraps should I choose?
Traditional boxing wraps are long cotton wraps you roll onto your hands in layers. They offer customised support for your wrists, knuckles, and the small bones in your hands. They’re the most secure option and are ideal for anyone training regularly. Quick wraps are slip-on, glove-style wraps with built-in padding. They’re faster and easier to put on, making them great for beginners or anyone in a rush. They provide good basic protection, though not quite as much structure as traditional wraps. Both are for sale at Byron Boxing on our Shop page or in the gym.
Do I need to check in when I arrive?
Yes. All members and visitors must check in upon arrival so we can manage attendance and safety. There is a wall-mounted iPad to the right of the entrance, where members can enter their custom 4-digit pin, or you can enter your name and find your booking to check in.
Do you offer boxing classes for kids and teens?
Yes. We run structured junior (7-11) and youth (12-18) boxing programs designed to build confidence, discipline, fitness, and technique in a safe environment.
What age groups do the youth boxing classes cover?
Our youth classes cover ages 12–18, with sessions tailored to developmental stages and skill levels. Junior boxing classes are for children aged 7-12, and gloves are provided. If a student who is 17/18 is progressing quickly they may ask/be asked to join the adult classes.
Is youth boxing safe?
Yes. We focus on non-contact skill development, fitness, confidence, and controlled technique. Safety and supervision are our top priorities.
